‘For God so loved the world…’ God has loved the world before He gave His son and because He loved the world, He gave His Son to express that love in a higher dimension. It is therefore important to know that giving is not loving; Love gives. The basis of relationship is love that is why the commandment is summarized into two: Loving the Lord and loving your neighbour as yourself. This is the whole law which is actually a commandment of love that Jesus came to perfect, loving His own to the very end. We have to love with all our heart, strength and might because Love is a sphere where friendship reigns. God will not have communion with us except we are his friends.
Why couldn’t Peter ask directly instead of sending John? It was a sensitive matter that greatly depended on a level of friendship. Jesus was a friend to Judas but Judas was not a friend to Him. He trusted them but not at the same level, yet He is not partial.
We need to understand the need of this hour which is to have intimacy with the father. There would not have been a need for Christ to come to the earth if it is not to show us the way. Why did God love Jesus so much? Jesus came to show us the way to the heart of the father. God is asking for an intimacy in the season we are. Some things about Jesus were only known by John and only He could give the account. Love is used in all relationship though it means different things but there is no higher love than the love of friendship, if it fails, then it is not friendship. The Father is inviting us to another realm of love and He is looking for trusted hands. The gospel is not difficult if we allow God have His way because the essence of the gospel is to bring men to God forever. God wants to bring in the world He has intended; He wants friends of the divine nature-LOVE and Love one to another is a community life-a Kingdom life.
In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
I AM is the Lord! He is the way, the truth and the life. In Jesus, God assembled every other way into one. The Father is Love. In the realm of the Father, we will see that He is meek, kind, compassionate, gentle, merciful, tender….these are all attributes of love. God is showing us His will, but we do not have energy to move there until we are equipped only with the truth; Truth is in God and alien to our world but we believe we will end up where He is.
He is the way, not a way. We do not have our way; the only way is I AM. The way into the Father’s heart is friendship. What is in God that makes Him to be forever is truth. When we enter into truth, we have come into prosperity. We can have the whole world and not be prosperous for in the realm of truth, money does not exist. You do not get what you give back.
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Truth exposes every form of lie and gives freedom. What made the Son free is truth. True worship is the worship done and given in truth. Grace and truth makes the Son and He gave a measure of grace and truth to all men. There had been grace before Jesus came but He has the full grace. We cannot find faith if grace is not given to us. The law came by Moses but Grace and Truth came by Jesus. Grace built Jesus and legislated it. He does not need man’s approval or recommendation because He has weight and cannot be shaken. Amen!
