THE HOPE OF GLORY

hope of gloryGod is the God of Glory and there are so many glories locked up in him. On the mount of configuration, the glory of the Son shone above all others by the virtue of what He was meant to accomplish which was, to die. While men accomplish degrees, houses and all other natural things, Christ accomplished death. Of course, death is not something anybody wants to accomplish.

Luke 9:28-32

And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.

And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.

And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:

Who appeared in glory, and spoke of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.

But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.

Those who are not in Life cannot see glory because the foundation point is Life. There is a life of this world which has its own glory and people go through it because of what they want to attain. When we hear, ‘hope of glory, that ‘hope’ is glory. Christ went through the cross and despised the shame because of the hope. The hope will not come to pass if He did not show them the foundation which has three phases: the prophet, Jesus of Nazareth and Jesus the Christ. This ‘Jesus the Christ’ is the glory. His glory is not miracles. He began to ‘manifest’ meant He began to ‘unveil’. There must be a platform where certain prophesies must be attained, He is a God of order. The glory of Moses and Elijah was their own personal glory, signature, honour not His own glory.

There are two things locked up in His glory; His person which is what the church should preach, understand and know. The ‘Him’ who has been with them (the disciples) was not the Him that was painted to them as a sign. Glory is not going to heaven neither is heaven glory but heaven is glorious. There must always be efforts, not human effort put in for every glory because it is quantifiable; if it can leave then it can come back. We must therefore strive for it.

Christ is the only one we are supposed to hear. Hearing helps to transport glory. When we hear Him therefore, we are coming into glory. By the time all came short of the glory of God, all lost their identity and needed to go back to Him and regain it. To define what to help us pursue accurately, the New Testament was brought.

The essence of the Testament is to unveil His own glory. Moses and Elijah came in with their own glory which is their clothing, their spiritual authorities. There are glories of the testimony. Men seek glory because of the importance associated with it. We must be very careful about glories that are around us. The importance of a glory is the weight of it and the earth is for the sons of men to have dominion. Men cannot seek His glory because of the contention of other lesser ones around them.

1 Corinthians 2: 6

However, we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nothing:

Wisdom is communicated through preaching- the heavier the weight, the brighter our shinning. Man does not want the one that commands weight on the inside but that on the outside but what God calls glory is a weight within; as words are communicated by hearing and understanding dawns on us, glory will begin from within.  The glory God is giving grace for is from within like Jesus not from the face like Moses. So, glory is also light, not only a weight for the abundance of light you acquire will determine your level of glory.

To the disciples,  the cross did not look like the way to glory because they wondered how the cross could be.

1 Peter 5:6-11

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

Casting all your care on him; for he cares for you.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour:

Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brothers that are in the world.

But the God of all grace, who has called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that you have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you.

To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Glory must be confirmed on us before our lives can manifest it because the glory of God is not shared with men except with the sons of God. Not any man does He share His glory with, He shares it with a kind of man; one who has been called into His eternal glory. This means that man has been called to come and experience what Jesus has experienced.

We have been called into the body of Christ not the body of Jesus. That body of Christ is a spirit. What they intend that will be formed in us is Christ because God wants to raise many sons to unto glory seeing Christ was the only man who was a Son in that age. When people get born again, the job is to show them to the Lord and they are to come to the end of the program which is glorification.

Romans 8:30

Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

 2 Corinthians 3:7

But if the ministration of death, written and engraved in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:

Moses followed the invisible to get what was visible. Do not glory in what the people of the world glory in. There are things locked up in Christ that we have been called to identify with. Christ began it; they are waiting for us to end it for we are being raised as trees of righteousness to cover the earth.
