The Lord is building His church. He is the builder and it is a great privilege we are part of the work He is doing. Grace brings ease, whatever we do then by our power lacks grace. It therefore takes those who can press into these things to partake of it. When Stephen died, he saw cloud of glory; Jesus too was taken away by the cloud of glory and this cloud are men- witnesses and it takes pressing to enter.
Grace and glory are not cheap, though free. Somebody paid for them, Christ paid with His life. Although they have been paid for, on our part there is a price to pay for them. One problem we have in the Christendom today is that we do not want to pay the price. We should be ready to pay the price. We thirst after something differ rent that will make us assume the position of God on the earth but He is not a man of the crowd. It takes pressing to get to Him, even in the midst of the crowd, somebody must be a pressing and longing.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
For by it the elders obtained a good report.
The heroes were not men that lived ordinary lives. This tells us that our spiritual taste bud is not for things of this world, it is so that we could press. When God sees the thirst inside us, the door will be opened for us and the hand of God comes over us taking us over until people will begin to wonder what kind of person we are. If we are not ready to pay the prize, then it means we do not want glory. This is why grace has been given for its essence is that we might enter into Glory.
