We cannot have glory without the person of God. It is the presence of God that makes heaven glorious. His essence makes up His weight. Shekinah means the resting of Yahweh. God has preference and specification. He cannot rest anywhere and anyhow; He wants to be one with us. The glory of God is the very life that exists in Him. Glory is the awe of God, it is the intensity of His wonder. God’s glory is the expression of His sovereignty and He is the only Sovereign being.
And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:
He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
Pillar of cloud was for direction and Pillar of fire for illumination. They are the elements of glory but not the Glory. When glory is present, corruption vanishes. God wears glory like a garment; He does not wear out. When we come into the glory of God nothing wears out. You cannot separate Grace from Glory because Grace makes Glory happen; it is the vehicle of divine communication.
We can experience God at different levels but the ultimate goal of God is that man may come into Glory.
There are four levels of Glory-
The first is captured by the creation; creation reveals His glory. You cannot conceive God’s wonder with your intellect.
Psalm 148:1-3, Psalm 19:1-4; Romans 1:14-28.
Paul by the Spirit saw into our time. The Moon, Sun, the Star and all works of nature exude the glory of God. We see the wonder of God and receive inspiration through His creation.
Two, General grace is another level of grace. When God’s blessing is being poured on the wicked, it is God’s glory. We need both God’s mercy and sovereignty. It is the universal glory of God captured by general grace. God is present everywhere. His glory is global.
Even in your mother’s womb, sovereignty covers you, we cannot limit God for He never gives up on His own creature.
The third level of glory is God’s manifest presence.
But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.
God’s Glory only dwells in a pure heart, a heart that makes the Will of God sovereign. We go through processes in other to have a pure heart- the processes of washing and cleansing by water and fire.
The sons of God are emerging and our consolation is in the gospel of our salvation. The hope of resurrection is achievable by the revelation of God. The sons of God are those who carry His glory and Christ is the ladder that connects the heaven and earth. The glory of God is the consecration of His presence. Manifest presence is man’s alignment with God’s Will before divinity is revealed.
In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
Above it stood the seraphim: each one had six wings; with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he did fly.
And one cried to another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the middle of a people of unclean lips: for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
The more we come daily to serve, the more we come closer to glory. Without consecration, we cannot enter into glory and without being cleansed by the fire of the Lord, we cannot carry His presence. The covering of face speaks of illumination. The covering of the feet speaks of reverence.
The fourth level of glory is the fullness of the glory of God. Shekinah glory is the full manifestation of God. We cannot have the glory of God without being compatible with Him. God’s glory only dwells in a purified heart, a heart that seeks to glorify Him in the earth, heart that will never hijack or misrepresent His presence.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
There are two cleansing agents which are water and fire. The essence of revelation therefore is to purge us. The supremacy of God’s flow is grace. The grace from above is reserved; it is the blessing from His right hand, the seal of God and our desire must be for Christ to be formed in us. Amen!
