It is clearly stated in the first book of John chapter 4, verses one to three how he that is of God and he that is not can be known saying, ‘anyone who believes that Jesus came in the flesh is of God’. The scripture says OF God not FROM God. It is an interesting thing to proclaim that Christ is of God and not from God, so is all who believes and professes Him as the Son of God.
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
The head of every man (male and female) is what was said, not every male man, because every male man is not a believer. It is every man who is born-again (2 Corinthians 5:17) that has his head as Christ. All things about this man who is now born-again are new. So, a man can be FROM God and not be OF God likewise a man can be of God like Christ is of God. The head of Christ being God therefore means that God emptied Himself in Christ; He became an embodiment of God, having all of Him and became someone who we have to come to to receive of God. We can receive from God without Christ but we cannot receive of God without Christ. The prophets, both in the Old and the New Testaments like John, Elijah and some others are from God.
John 1:6, ‘There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.’
They did a lot by unction and got things from God but those do not equal being of God. Our future and entire living is not guaranteed if we are not of Christ. This calls for the need to grow up unto Him because there is a maturity of son-ship and a completeness of son-ship. We can be sons in maturity and not be in completeness. Angels are sons in maturity not completeness; they only share in the likeness of God and not His image. Only Christ became the image and still is. It is not easy to look to Christ alone in our world today. There are lots of malfunctions in the church and the world that makes it appear difficult to look only to Him. The scriptures recorded how the Israelites awaited the coming of Christ saying, ‘when Christ shall come He will tell us all things’; this tells that Christ is not a vapor, neither God is; He is a person who has a being. He is the express image of God’s person, His completeness and reproduces the totality of God in His spirit, soul and body. He is the exact re-presentation. He does not represent but re-presents God in the exact format.
2 Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of God, who has reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
Son-ship is a position that we cannot deny; if we deny it, we deny God. That is why it has to be taught consistently in believers’ gathering. The son of God came down and took on the form of flesh for reconciliation purpose. So, God grew on earth a son and that son became His completeness. This is also our destiny and a principle to walk by. It is like simple bible truths of, ‘ He that hates his wife hates himself’; and if he loves his wife, he loves himself. All these find expression in their seed-the seed they bear. These are realities of the scripture not just advices. We deny ourselves if we walk away from them. Wisdom is justified of her children; you do not look for her, you see her through her children.
1 John 4:4, ‘You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.’
We are of God, though we are little, in the flesh, we are not just men, we are of God and carry His seed by the words we hear. So, we cannot live otherwise. There is a son of perdition that drives the world; he is called anti-Christ. He is a son but not of the Image that is why he hates anything of the Image because image has to do with being of God. Anything that grows has a higher quality, it can be common but is not cheap. There is something about the seed that expresses the nature. The being that gives the seed commands the quality of the Life that is in it. That is why no matter how a servant serves, he cannot be a son except he is adopted. And even at that, when the son of the seed shows, the adopted will give way. As long as Isaac has not showed up, Ishmael still has an inheritance. Why is our life precious before God? It is because we are of God. If we are therefore of God like Christ then we are from above, of above and above all like Christ. It is a genealogy; this means we can grow to God and there is no limitation to what we can be. This is the place of envy for Satan, he is already at his peak and no matter what he does, he cannot come into the ‘US’ of God. Matters of eternity cannot be discussed with him; he is not part of them. Why is Christ therefore our head? HE can empty Himself into us. We can carry him, thereby carry God. We are precious in God’s sight. Our building is of worth, he designed to make us in His likeness and image. Image dwells in the soul and only it can carry the full content. When he was building us as temples, He has a design. It is not our height but the design. That is why we cannot be cloned nor manipulated. We are not built with human will. We are more than moving flesh, we are moving tabernacles that Satan will bale the whole world out to get. We can cause light to flood a generation; we can carry blessing and also carry a curse; we can cause God’s Will to be done. We are Saints. God takes pleasure in our building. Many things come to threaten us and tell us we cannot become. We do not know our worth so we could not even believe God loves us. We are not just living, when God looks down on any man, then he is precious to Him. For a man to be in Christ, something has happened to the earth. He has moved from the realm of just living to the realm of heir-ship (Romans 8:17). No one is inferior; everyone is born a joint heir. The weakest among us today could be the one awaited. Christ has bore our weaknesses and sins and we are healed by His stripes. What is it about man that He will empty Himself in us? One day you will know in yourself that the unseen and divine has come to dwell in man and YOU are.
Romans 8:28-35 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifies. Who is he that comdemns? It is Christ that died, yes rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Verse 31 refers to authorities not human beings. There are forces of the world influenced by these authorities that have made many things abnormal. Believers that are within age 20-25 should not be babes anymore. Judgment is expected of them. Jesus at 12 was not a kid; he knew His Father’s business and was after it. At 30, He became the King of the universe and holds all power in heaven and on earth. We are of God and precious to Him. He loves us dearly (Psalm 8:2). In the seasons ahead of us, heaven will take care of our battles and silence every enemy. Whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world; its evil and cruelty. It does not matter the pressure we go through, we know we need to go through them so as to be emptied. They are designed for our equipping because we believe nothing shall separate us from the love of Christ seeing that HE LOVES US.
