There was a time when coming to God was an all comers affair and over the years, people have called unto the name of God via different means without seeing Him. God decided to narrow it down to one personality-CHRIST JESUS which is why scripture refers to Him as the image of the invisible God. If we do not accept the one that has come to mirror God, we will not see His power at work in our lives. This message is to further help our understanding of Christ and the Holy Spirit in us…
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated [us] into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, [even] the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all [things] he might have the preeminence.
The image of the invisible is Christ. Before Jesus Christ will come in the flesh, there will be the manifestation of the sons of God on the earth. The rock that followed the children of Israel in the wilderness is no longer what obtains in our time; He is within us.
Genesis 1:26; 2:7
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth;
And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
When God breathed into man and man became a living soul, he came into the consciousness of two realms- the natural and the spiritual. He could walk around and involve in physical activities and also knew what God was doing and relate with Him. We also are like that; we are spirits and have souls and bodies. When God made Adam, creature feared him and was subject to him because he had in him a dominion. Jesus in the scripture was said to be the second Adam. He came to the earth as the Son of God to make us sons too. He is the Word in heaven and became the Christ after resurrection. Therefore, until we have the revelation of Christ, we cannot become Christ-like. When God was creating man, He had an image He was looking at and that image is Christ.
For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all [things] under his feet:
Man initially had dominion but that dominion was hijacked by anti-Christs. He initially had righteousness but that was replaced with unrighteousness but he was created to be God on earth and to have dominion on the earth. Man was created and given a language but that was lost due to the fall. When Christ came therefore to renew man, He changed the language of man.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of [his] government and peace [there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Jesus had gone but Christ is still on the earth in us. Jesus is a name through which Christ is functioning. When we received Jesus, Christ is released into our life. Man was created and ordained to carry Glory. Even though man has not yet gotten to that point where all things are in subjection under his feet, yet, we see Jesus and that is the standard.
2 Corinthians 3:18
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord.
We can never enter into metamorphosis without the Spirit of God. Without the Holy Ghost, there is no manifestation of Christ because the Holy Ghost is the only one that can reach heaven and earth.
And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galileans?
He promised to pour out of His Spirit upon us without measure in the last days. He wants to pour out of Himself unto all flesh so that humanity can be restored to what it is supposed to be. When we lost the dominion that was given to us, Christ came and died for us. Christ cannot function outside the body; He only functions in and through the body. God wants to gather the word in our lives so that there can be a manifestation of His Spirit. The word is what quickens the Spirit on our inside. We are no more in the last days but in the last of the last of the last of days. Creature is waiting earnestly for the manifestation of the sons of God.
For us to manifest God, we need to be prayerful and be intense worshippers of the Lord. All power and authority have been given to the church. So, we as Christians already have everything that we need. Therefore, whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven and anything we loose on earth is loosed in heaven. Therefore, the heavens are waiting for the earth; for the sons to break forth with the intensity of the Spirit and fire.
